The Designer, April Buchwald
From a tiny seed
grows extraordinary things, be they beautiful trees or a small idea that
blossoms into sublime inspiration. April Buchwald was born and
raised i Bodhi is the Pāli and Sanskrit word for the "awakened" or "knowing" consciousness. The bodhi tree is a symbolic representation of a person’s journey to spiritual awareness. As the seed which begins tiny and hard grows open and free, so should it grow in the allegorical sense in a person’s heart and mind. In metaphysical lore, the bodhi tree is the "tree of enlightenment" under which Gautama sat in meditation before he achieved the state of grace that made him the Buddha. The original bodhi tree grew on the banks of a tributary of the Ganges and legend has it that all Buddhas became enlightened under its branches. April hopes that each piece in her collection will inspire it’s owner on their journey of spiritual and personal growth.

n Miami, a
city whose verdant surroundings and vibrant culture inspire her to create
jewelry that is as unique as the city from whence it came. She designed
the first piece in her Bodhi Collection as a gift for a friend who felt a
strong draw to the Anahata, or heart, chakra. When she saw the
finished piece around her friend’s neck, she knew right away that she had
the opportunity to create a line of jewelry that was both beautiful and
meaningful. A third generation jewelry designer, April is well
aware of the power a special piece of jewelry can have over it’s owner.
It is with this knowledge that she created the Bodhi Collection, inspired
by the seven chakras and her study and love of all things metaphysical.
Although her pieces are made from precious metals and stones, it is the
meaning behind each creation that gives each piece its true value.
April feels strongly that to wear something both beautiful and meaningful
can transform the wearer’s mood and outlook and serve as an inspiration
for spiritual growth and awareness.
